Civilian 1940's Group - Are there any?

Post by Simon_JT »

I'm hoping that someone can point me towards a group that is either civilian re-enactment for the 1940's or has places for civilians.

I'm based in London, but would be able to get to most locations around the home counties.

You need to speak to utilityjude over on www.wwiireenacting.co.uk.

Jude's group is probably the only authentic WW2 Civilian group. They're a really friendly bunch.

Miss Costello - I don't know Jude's group. Do you have a means by which I could contact them?

Thanks in advance.

I was hoping to get down to War & Peace today, but won't be able to make it. I'd still like to be able to get in touch with Jude's group if anyone could provide an email it would be appreciated.

That's interesting to hear. I'm trying to organise a display of what the WI and the WVS did during the second world war for Warriors Through The Ages at West Stow. Not sure that the public will be interested but it's always good to point out that people were keeping the home fires burning. There were over 200 members of the WVS killed on active service during The Blitz

If you're on Facebook pop me a message and I will put you in touch?

My area of knowledge is women in the Great War and WW2 so can probably help.
