Medieval reenactment groups in the South?

Post by loxley »

Hello there :)

New to the board. I'm looking for a medieval reenactment to join. I used to be a member of Soskan American Civil War reenactment group years ago, but looking to get into Medieval reenacting.

Are there any in the South? Hampshire based would be great (I'm from Portsmouth). I'm also of the female persuasion but I don't want to be a civvy I'm more interested in the battle side of things.

Be great to find a group to join!

Soskan??? I already know a load of you that do ww2 and spearfish creek?

well that means you understand blackpowder already. so medieval artillery might be your style? plus artillery gets crewed by both girls and boys

we're in London but try to do most shows in the home counties
everyday i can be an insignificant but unavoidable nuisance is a day well spent.

We are mainly based at Arundel castle, and cover Roman, Norman, 15th, ECW and Pirates. We have a few members from Portsmouth way.

Hi Loxley

If you are more of a High medieval persuasion, come and take a look at us on Saturday at the Hospital of St Cross near Winchester on Saturday

http://www.feudals.org.uk/

We have a strong living history side, but a number of us also swing weapons at the first given opportunity

Hi Loxley,
SCA contingent that covers Hampshire is West Dragonshire, with their fighter practice at Basingstoke. Usually we've got an event on at Winchester each year, but i think next year will be Romsey.

Hounds of the Morrigen is a 15th century reenactment group based in Basingstoke. They have practices every Thursday night; great atmosphere and loads of experienced reenactors :)
