B&Bs for the new ILHF location

Post by sally »

Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap and re-enactor friendly B&Bs for the new location of the ILHF?
I'm in a dither about whether to look for one near the new curry night location or one near the venue, or just curl up in the van in a layby this year

You won't find many...The Dunton Bassett Arms in the village of that name has some rooms & is rather nice....otherwise,Lutterworth is the nearest town and may have some.

Steve the going rate is £50 per person per night. Accept no free loaders and make them take there rubbish home with them, and no pets.

We're staying at the Narborough Arms about 6 miles away. It's about halfway between the venue and the curry house too. It's nothing special as far as I can see, but it's cheap-ish and being a pub has beer and food.

Try the Plough at Wigston, about 7 miles away. £130 for bed and breakfast with en suite.

We tried Farmstay but they came up with nothing. hopefully we will be able to caravan on site in the future.

If you would like to look on the living History Site, you will see that Victory Farm
has both B & B and Caravan Parking, they also will allow people to sleep in cars/vans
plus they have showers & wc

Holiday Inn,Leicester.
Managed to get a double room for £45 a night, all in, using one of those "last minute" type web sites.
Have to pay for overnight parking but what the hell. It's got a swimming pool, gym, free WiFi, and really comfy beds.
