The Woodville Household
The Woodville Household are a 15th Century re-enactment group who specialise in the period known as The Wars of the Roses. They portray the retinue of Sir Anthony Woodville. As well as showing the military side of life, they also try to show the civilian side through living history camps.
Home of the finest Oirish portrayal of a mid-late 15th century Italian fop anywhere in the UK, bad news Heeney and Jim the Goffick are in it too.
Still in life you have to take the rough with the smooth and with the rustiest armour in the whole Fed we know all about rough.

Not to mention not taking into how deep the Woodies Bill line could well end up being this season....
Heeny certainly had fun at Blore, seeing how many different formations he could get us into..... & that was last year.

Re: The Woodville Household
Hello, to the Woodville Household,
during our visit to Kelmarsh the other week, my friend and I kind of wandered into the Woodville camp(I think!) towards the end of Sunday (when the procession thing was taking place, so almost finishing time for the show itself I guess), anyway, the camp was part way through packing up and I'm sure everyone was busy, but I just wanted to say thank you to the two men who took the time to talk to us, explain a bit about the history of the woodvilles and answer some questions we had, I don't know who the men were but just remember one was dismantling a wooden bed and very kindly stopped what he was doing and said he was happy to answer questions and then the man by him also took time to speak with us too, the conversation went on to aeroplanes in the end lol as the hurricane was doing his fly by at that point. (maybe that will ring a bell with whoever they were if they're on this forum, I think maybe from Kent?)
Anyway, I just wanted to say that we really appreciated it and that it came across as the woodvilles being a very nice group
(not that the other groups aren't too, I'm sure). Thank you. I now really want to have a go at re enactment, as does my 11 yr old daughter who totally loved the whole weekend.
best wishes
from Sonia (one of the 2 'slightly' strange, aforementioned women)

Re: The Woodville Household
Sounds like it could be Phil aka "the nice lad" unlike Jaspar who be known as "the Cross which Phil beareth", but it could be Ray, or little Jim or half a dozen others (all called Mark or Mick).
In fact I have begun to wonder of the Woodvilles are to the WOTR what Bruce is to Austrailian philosphers.
("Sorry, can we call you Mark, mate?")
If you can get to Bossie I would be ahppy to talk more over a mug of an exotic herbal brew from far off Chinnay (obtained through one of my trading contacts with the heathen Turk one Signoire Paulo J. Tipes).
