Society Questions

Post by SpudUk »

I've been asked to look at a couple of different periods on behalf of a friend, so wondered if anyone could help?

Stand and Deliver - Does anyone know how to contact these chaps?
Crimean War - Are there any groups in the UK who do this, and are there any groups in the UK portraying Russians? If not, would there be interest?
Boer War - Again, any groups in the UK doing this?
WW1 - Are there any groups that do combat re-enactment in this period, especially (but not exclusively) non-British regiments?

Thanks

Chris

Never heard of Stand & Deliver.

The Diehards venture into the Boer Wars.

WWI; have a look in this month's Skirmish magazine. Good looking UK based German featured.

It's been a while since I last came over to the UK to do Boer War, so I don't know what groups like the Anglo-Boers, the Diehards and the Heilbron Commando have been up to lately. Frankly, my impression is that there's not much going on in terms of Boer War events any more.

Several of the groups listed in this old topic do or used to do Boer War:

The Heilbron Commando, the only group to do Boer War exclusively, used to be part of c.20, but nowadays, they're with A Moment in Time.

Stand and Deliver were only ever 2 chaps as far as I recall. They were at Kelmarsh a couple of times and a few others for Event Plan I think but not seen them for a few years.
