Calling up of the Militia 1812 – 1815

Calling up of the Militia 1812 – 1815

The War of 1812 Society (UK) is looking for like minded groups to join them on various battlefields over the coming seasons.
All we ask is you bring along your flintlock and cartridge box and dress appropriately for the early 1800’s and don’t forget a sense of humour.

We are not looking to take away from what you have as societies, merely add to your events calendar.

We have members for living history encampments, which all are welcome to join, but what we would like are the numbers to put on a skirmish that would entertain the crowds.
Our aim is not to have a society that would demand the individuals’ membership but to act as co-ordinators for events over the coming years that would be commemorating the bicentennial events of the War of 1812.

Our regular US forces consist of infantry, artillery and a naval shore party. With a detachment of dragoons forming as well, we continue to grow.
There are a number of British Crown Forces already happy to join us on the battlefield you will have someone to skirmish with.

We would like to invite all First Nation and Native Peoples groups to join us.

Our immediate focus is the North East of England and Scotland to help give a Napoleonic presence in the North of the country but we already have members in the South of England, Wales, Ulster and Ireland. We have also been invited to several shows in Scotland and England this year.

Please feel free to contact us via our website or Face book page.

Huge variety there..We've talked about doing the Voyageur type,as opposed to the select Embodied........
