Well there's my group Britannia, but we're not very nice people, ...ok... the Essex lot are ok... it's the Kent lot, they sing loudly and badly when p155ed (probably why God gave us the Thames :* .... they're going to read this I know :lol: )!

Depends what period though, I think if you're 'Wars of the Roses' then MSS have a strong presence - I can recommend them.

WW2 Speak to Lord Duvet, he's in this area.

waltham abbey gunpowder mills has local groups attending between 1500 and ww2 as well.

ww2 group theres one in essex called battle for europe ,they portray the essex regiment and do quiet a few shows in the local area ,have seen them at the gunpwder mills .. 8-)

theres at least 3 essex regiment groups (4 if you include the far east and 5 if you include ww1)

then you have "the garrison", autumn 44, the queens LRR just doing british.

Panzer Lehr, the luftwaffe society if you want to german amongst other

it depends what period the guy wants. the gunpowdermills events or cressing temple prob are the most obvious places to meet lots of people. or go to damyns hall for http://www.militaryandflyingmachines.org.uk - but its mainly post 1914
