The largest (and one of the oldest) re-enactment groups in the UK portraying the late Roman period.

See our impression of life and combat on a small island on the edge of a dying Roman Empire and the end of the Classical age.

Also - see provincial gladiators in action! It may be a long way from the Colosseum, but you will not be disappointed: A team consisting of criminals, barbarians and other prisoners of war, disgraced soldiers and thrill seekers will fight...for your entertainment!

Britannia members have featured in 7 major historical action films and over 100 Television productions.

Films to date:
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
First Knight
Blackadder Back & Forth
Robin Hood
(Via Combat International)

& 4 members in Eagle of the Ninth (Via Combat International)

In essence we want the best of both worlds, we want the entertainment and spectacle of the old style battle re-enactment groups, but we also strive
for the credibility of living history and research associations. Our aim is to provide thrilling combat displays in the most historically credible arms and equipment possible.

Interested in joining?
We do recruit new members, we'd like new people to have their own transport (we're not a taxi service) we have little tolerance for petty politics, numpties or troublemakers.
If a family joins with young children, please look after your own kids (we're not an unpaid nursery school).
We let people on the field when they are over 18, reasonably fit and satisfy us that they are safe but exciting performers.
We also insist that our people always carry that most vital piece of kit- a sense of humour.

Interested in booking us or filming?
We'll talk to any new clients or film companies... only please don't tell us there's 'not much of a budget' or 'this event will grow when we attract more revenue, and you'll reap the benefits next year'.
We've heard it all before!
If you have a serious proposal, we'll talk, if you're a reputable film company or client, then you'll appreciate our caution in the above statement!

We've just had an official endorsement from the Bafta award winning team at Horrible Histories. We've worked on all 3 series so far.

On our home page:

`Britannia are a real pleasure to deal with, they are not only extremely knowledgeable about their subject but also so affable to work with and a good laugh which is most important on long shoot days. They are thoroughly professional and clearly love what they do. I would not hesitate to recommend them'.

- Adam Jenkins, Producer, Horrible Histories.

Very chuffed!!! :)
