Linen or linen/cotton suppliers?

Post by Random Mumblings »

Are there any other suppliers that sell preferably linen or alternatively linen/cotton mix fabrics in suitable colours for dark age re-enactment at similar prices to Bernie the Bolt? (ie not break the bank expensive)

Don't mind if it's online or via the phone although online will be easier of course!! Croft Mill have nothing suitable at the moment.

Herts Fabrics - they're one of the forum banner sponsors, a more helpful and pleasant family you'd be hard to find - tell them what period you're looking at and they'll steer you to the stuff you actually want.

Other linen suppliers are

ruth goodman at Goodman's Emporium
http://www.tudorgroup.co.uk/services/index.html

and

Fabrics of Time.

Both trade almost exclusively with good quality linens.

Ali (Herts Fabrics) has linen as well

Can't find a link/website for the later two, but others can probably let you know it.

Probably a few other suppliers in the stickied listing at the top of this section too .

fabrics of time and the goodmans are top banana

Ali has lots of decorative stuff probabaly not suited to your vike but massivley apporpriate for the Normans
There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.

would always recommend using a re-enactment supplier (keep the money amongst friends!) but Ikea does linen and so does cheapfabrics.co.uk (search for linen, limited shades but £3.99 per m so useful when stuck)

Huh? MK Rumble? Ah, no. Complete accident, my username seems to have been abbreviated to Rumbly, and after I'd acquired the moniker "Rumbly" I joined the same group as MK Rumble. Bizarre, but true. He makes a mean stew, does Rumble.
