Thankoo darling :D

I have the sweetest, brightest little budgy feather I could put in it, but I don't think it'd be authentic somehow  But my smallest pheasant feather is still too big :(

I agree with Panda, put it in temporarily and when you go to KW, keep an eye out for a feather there. I'll also have a look for you too.

I doubt you would find a small enough pheasant feather without plucking a pheasant first.

Get a pheasant feather and cut it down. It will look out of proportion at first but if you trim it at the sides....

Yes, they do have peacocks, but the chances of finding a feather are pretty slim. I have one, but haven't seen any laying around since then (June 2005).

How much too big is the feather? It could have considerable comedy value...

You mean like the pointy shoes of the 15 c(?) men? :D

Well the longest feather I have is about 50 cm, and the shortest is 17cm; the budgy feather, however, is about 4cm.

There's nothing funny about my pointy shoes.

At least, there wouldn't be if my feet weren't so huge to begin with!

Anyhoo!

Here he is, kinda finished now I guess, though I will make him a few sets of sleeves. My dang web cam really doesn't do the colours justice, the trim is a really nice crimson satin, and there's gold embroidery on his jerkin thing which doesn't come through at all :(

His venetian hose didn't really work as well as I would have liked - bit too tight around the top so could be a bit more baggy. The peascodding kinda eorks though, what with him having a typical teddy tum. It's fastened with a single hook and eye.

Apart from that, I reckon he'll be a dead hit with Maggot!

Is he really a rat?

Toy obviously...

Meanwhile, have resorted to stuffing Francis de la Tedkin's V.hose with cushion filler to make them the proper shape

No, too late now.

But I got my sore throat treated the Tudor way :D Weird how it started straight after I took a swig from a bottle of red wine round the campfire on saturday night.
