Hi, what kind of gloves do people have in their gauntlets. Trying to track down just a plain leather glover to sew in but cant find anything that looks reasonable.
thanks TK

I've got felted mittens; padded, grippy and breathable.

I use home base gardening gloves, not the really thick suedy ones, but some nice soft leather ones. Not cheap, but fairly easy to sew in, and very comfortable.

, and they are a nice brown colour and not anything lurid! and the first pair lasted around 4-5 years ( I think!)

should have said they are a bit short, so I added an extra bit on the cuff.

Re: Gloves for Gauntlets?
I got some light-weight WMA gloves from The Grange to go in my new gauntlets. They happen to fit really nicely and give a little light padding. Previously I just keep my eyes open for gardening gloves and take all the modern bits (the 'zig-zag' draw in on the back of the hand, the labels, the edging, etc) off so that it looks okay from a few yards away.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try homebase for some leather gloves. I fight at the grange so wanted to get some of the WMA ones but they dont do trade with the company that makes them anymore and I dont want to ship them in from america so you were lucky to get your pair when you did
