Lamellar (sorry if spelt wrong..)

Postby The Black Rider » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:46 pm

Im having trouble finding anywhere that sells plates for making lamellar, or the leather suitable for it. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. :D

A quick Google search has given me patterns at:

http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/l ... emplarbob/

and

http://www.arador.com/construction/construc.html

Given some steel plates, a hacksaw (preferably mechanical), some HSS drills and a few other basic tools you could make your own.

Failing that have you tried your regular armourer? or an enthusiastic blacksmith or other metalworker?

I have seen lamella for sale at TORM or NLHF, but I can't remember who's stall had them on.

Good luck

I couldn't direct you to any evidence, but I'm certain that leather was used for plates.

Sources for leather include:
LePrevo (Google it)
Identity Store (Google again)
Philip Mantle (catch him at a show) (I think)

I've dealt with all 3 in the past and found them very helpful. However, it is best to know what you want when you approach them.

Good luck
