Army of Darkness - the Medieval Dead

I first saw this in the cinema - by the end of it I was laughing so much I could barely stand. Corny, chessy and requiring stratospheric suspension of disbelief, but it now has a prized place in my DVD collection. Thoughts anyone?

It's amazing how their version of medieval England looks like a quarry in Califonia filled with SCAdians, otherwise a brilliant film :)

Hail to the King!

I have been told that there are three endings to the film. I have only ever seen two.

The one where he oversleeps and the one where he appears back in the S-Mart.

---------------------------------------
Do we all remember:

Lady, I'm going to have ask you to leave the store

and

... the names Ash, housewares.

And one of the best moments of cinema - where he throws the gun into the air and catches it on the trolley. I laughed so much I missed the rest of the fight.
---------------------------------------

Has anyone seen the third ending?

Thats one of my favorite movies, I dont think there are 3 endings though, but there are 3 versions of the movie...even the 'uncut' version isnt complete as is missing 2 or 3 lines that are in the theatrical version.

If you liked that though, check out Bubba Ho-tep, same craziness and Bruce Campbell one liners.

You can't beat Bruce Campbell no matter what he's doing. (Mind you, I still think his crowning moment is beating off his own hand with a copy of 'A Farewell to Arms' in 'The Evil Dead 2'! )

My husband Jeffrey made the armour for that film! When we first got together we had a rubber Deadite in the office, but that fell apart and was discarded years ago. We do still have a fibreglass copy of Evil Ash's helmet on the bookcase though.

Who knew it would become such a cult classic? At the time, Jeff just thought it was it lucky break, as the proceeds from that job set Jeff up in business and he's never done anything but make armour since.

Jeffrey's moved on since then. He's currently finishing work on a second harness for the Frazier Arms Museum in Louisville which will be delivered in November. He is also become an avid jouster, having formed the Order of the Crescent with his mates.
