A commission from this Summer, for a museum Oop North.

Straightforward, but needful of patience.

Client chose the design as it is representative of the town/city.

Stock: flax linen, approx 3 feet wide X approx 7 feet long. Washed.
Paint: Indigo, Yellow ochre, red ochre and titanium white (substitute for lead white)
Medium: Hot size glue.
Method: stencil for man body of the fleurs, brush for the highlights and modelling. Ruled lines.

Even though is not the fussiest piece I have produced, it is certainly the largest, it needed me to think on a bigger scale and to take my time in ruling up and getting the geometry right. Overall a very satisfying end result, client is happy, so that is what counts. Bottom pic shows scale of the fleurs.

Looks even better 'in the flesh'.

Jorge, you'll be glad to know the project is going ahead after all, and so as soon as it's in place I'll send you photos of it in situ. 8-)
