I have this awful temptation to start corrupting perfectly good historic hat patterns now by knitting beards underneath them, could do a Henry VIII complete with bonnet, beard and knitted jewels on the hat for example ...
no really, I mustn't. I have more than enough sensible knitting projects to be getting on with. :oops:

Not cheap I'm afraid, took nearly 2 days to knit plus the wool so its going to be about £40
