'Roman' traders tent

I'm having a moment of extreme stupidity, either that or my google-fu is weak today. Those smallish rectangular ridge tents that open at the front to form an awning and are particularly popular with Roman traders? what are they called and who makes acceptable but budget-end-of-the-price-bracket ones? I'm only finding Roman military tents this morning.

Anyone selling a second hand one?

Hi Sally

From my (limited) experience there are two types one with a ridge and one flat topped

I have always assumed that the flat top one was more "roman" and the ridge one was more medieval (but this is probably just me)

I think my tent was made by Past Tents and known as a "traders Tent" (I was going to upload a photo but the file is too big)

I got mine second hand (but in great almost new condition) from good old Ebay for £240

I hope you find what you are looking for

Cheers Richard (Chain Reaction)

Hi Sally,

We have a couple of spare ones - which will be for sale when I get around to it! We're going to be having a sort out on 22/23 February so I can sort one out for you if you like. The tents are located in North Wales, near Corwen. PM me and we'll sort something out!
