Lincoln Xmas Market

Postby Martin » Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:14 am

Well, whos going ? we are :) , Ive just spoken to Chas about having an armoured bod in the street with a megaphone and hes OK'd it, hes got £100 and I though we could maybe do the same as last year, traders have a whip around for him. Ive PM'd Skev to see if he's up for it as he did a sterling job last year. There is also going to be hot food there this year from the Giddy Kipper which will be a nice break from the overpriced stuff in town and a lot closer lol. Also would anyone fancy getting together for a beer on the Saturday night at the local pub ? we are booking a table for a meal after the market closes cos they do good grub and are willing to serve us if we prebook :)

We just received the contract from EH, looks like we'll be at our first fair in the Palace. Very exciting.

Unfortunately due to work commitments, I am unable to make it Thursday and Friday this year. But if required I could still make it Saturday and Sunday if people wished.

Just thought you might like to know, the Medieval Market is mentioned on the official map from the Christmas Market website this year. Should help a few more people find their way there. :D

Hi Martin, will be more than happy to contribute extra cash for some one to `call` the people in from the main market. It worked last year and as said before the best market we have ever done.

Heres hoping this year is as good. Been making stuff for a month now and i have 4 markets before it, bloody hell!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the offer of accommodation - I'll have a chat with the team & see where we stand on this. Paul (my husband) and I may well take you up on the offer. Would be good to see you again. Our guests loved the coins you made for our wedding favours 3 years ago :)

We'll also be selling mulled wine, warm Christmas mead & mulled cider at the event, along with luxury viennese topped mince pies.

We will be next to Martin's stall & have a "dining" area in an enclosed courtyard :D Very very excited about this show!

Dave,

Can I crash at your Saturday night.

What time do I need to be there Saturday. And can I get a parking place at the Castle please.

Regards

Parking should be in the pub car park a short distance from the Bishop's Palace.

Hopefully, there won't be any parking in front of the palace this year. It spoilt the whole look of the event.

totally agree with you, the vans looked awful. When you came through the path the vans blocked the flames and lights Chaz had put up, if the carpark had been miles away I could have understood it, but its only just down the road

Totally agree we only had the van round the side on late sunday after the event had shut!

I also agree we need litlle more to attract people, skev did a great job last year but he is working sat and sun, i would go up myself but i ahve to look after the stall as i am on my own, oh and dish out mince pies and brew tea and sell and try not get cold, and look interested to each and every customer, and try not to sell out by saturday morning!

Just rung the palace to speak to chas but hes away till the 7th Nov, I may have wangled a knight on horseback and one on foot with a juggler for outside the Palace for a grand total of zero £ and zero pence :) all we need now is a fire breather :P

Might be able to help you there Martin....

Unfortunately I can't do it as I will be dealing with food, but one of my staff can do fire poi, staffs etc & breathe. He's coming anyway, so I'm sure we can get him to do a couple of spots for us - he's down as our runner etc, so would be able to be freed up. We also have a close up magician on our team to entertain folks whilst they queue for our food (presuming we are going to have queues!). I'm sure we can get him outside for a bit working with Pip to entice people in.

Will let you know.

Kudos on the white horse!
