New WebSite - Constructive Comments Appreciated

Post by Redders »

All,

I've just revamped my wonderful other halfs website.
It's still in it's infancy and has more to be added.

I would greatly appreciate any positive and constructive comments that would follow from anyone taking a look at it.

She's already getting plenty of orders so something must be working :)
Thought it was about time I got some real comments from peeps in the same boat.

Thanks in advance.

Redders,

Can I say that maybe a plainer background rather than the weave as it makes reading the writing difficult.

As you say its in it's infancy can I suggest to you that you get to the photo's sooner rather thean later. Their are two advantages to this
1) Gives teh site more colour and real content
2) People don't really liek buying things they haven't seen.

Also can I suugest that you don't have teh start page, it doesn't add anything to the site, and it's one more click for people to go to.

Its nice though, aprt from thos little things

Cheers Skev, comments appreciated.

We're planning a photo shoot on Saturday :)
A few friends round in kit to get some required photo's taken.
Totally agree with you about pictures being very important and how peeps like to see what they can actually purchase.

I was thinking of using the initial page as a mini news board once things get up and running. That way peeps can be 'attention grabbed' without the flow of the site being disturbed.

The background is something my lady is insisting upon. I may have to play around with this a little??

Are you guys back at Fagins in Feb/March? If so, I may pick your brains over a coffee. 8)

I have a large clear screen and find any of the type face that is not in Bold very difficult to read. Also, weave on pattern is very distracting - vested interest here, I am a professional seamstress, and think the simpler the better. Also there is a grammatical error on the welcome page - it should be "country's" not "countries".

SC,

Thank you :)

Grammatical error rectified.

Will look at alternatives to the weave background.

I am back at Fagins in Feb Redders, so pop over and we can of course discuss it over a coffee.

I understand your concept of what you want to do about grabbing peoples attention, but waht you should do is actuallu have it with the navigation there as well and ability to add things to the basket.

If your good lady wanst the back ground you want to drag it through something liek photoshop and get it to a much more faded view and maybe think about using arial as your font and making it a bitt bigger.

Having pictures you can click on to biggerise would be good, they're quite small which is annoying if you want to study detail :D

NP's Lidi :)

That's planned to be addressed quite soon.

'Biggerised' Quality word :D

For each of the products i'm planning to assign an indivual page that will include descriptions, More & Bigger pictures. Hopefully pictures of relevant detail too?

Right...........

I've changed the content background.
It's still textured but hopefully less heavy and easier on the eye.

I've also changed the font.
The text is now clearer and no longer appears squashed.

Photos.
These will be added over the next week or so.
Additional content pages will accompany the additional pictures.

Thanks to the guys that have commented so far.

Please feel free to continue adding your thoughts.
