Historic Food Day - 11th June

Notice of the forthcoming Historic Food Day to be held at Clarke Hall Museum in Wakefield on Saturday June 11th.

Speakers/demonstrators include:
Peter Brears
Ivan Day
Richard Fitch
Julia Gant
Iona McCleery
Jo Buckberry

Places are FREE, but advance booking essential as places are limited.

The booking line is not yet open, but I shall post here as soon as it is, with full details. In the meantime, pencil it in your diary and watch this space!

The event is held as part of the 'You Are What You Ate' project - a collaboration between the University of Leeds, the University of Bradford and Wakefield Council, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

Ivan Day (17th century ice-cream)
Richard Fitch (early chocolate)
4 and 20 Blackbirds (medieval cooking)
Iona McCleery (medieval food and health)

Includes a free lunch - cooked to medieval recipes.

Anne still spitting feathers we could not make it Vicky. She would have loved to have done a paper for the conference and hopes she will get another invitation for the next one and will make sure there is no diary clash!

great event in a cracking location. much appreciated, scrummy food too ! :D


fast removing B&Q boxes from re-enactment, and hoping to do the same for sash cord guy ropes
