My group are doing a Georgian picnic at Stowe gardens on the 18th, and we've been asked to bring what suitable food we can.
Now, at home we've just had a serious glut of cherries - in about an hour this evening 3 washing up bowls and climbing - and I was wondering, are there any recipes for cherries pre-1740 that will keep for a couple of week. My brain is saying jam, as that's what we'll probably do with the rest, but being completely ignorant about cookery I've no idea.
I realise that post makes very little sense but has anyone got any ideas?
