Postby caveman101 » Mon Jul 27, 2009 9:27 pm

hi guys and girls, im looking for a uk supplier of brass/ vaguely goldish shiny riveted maille rings so i can tart up my new shirt. my googling has proved fruitless in finding rivet links. i was wondering if anyone could point me to a supplier? thanks.

http://www.dorsetgoldplating.co.uk/
Send them some dags you can make or buy of someone and get them gold plated.
Or, the only brass maille I have seen is, on indian imports or butted stuff on sights like http://www.theknightshop.co.uk/catalog/ ... 7950b91cc2

Or, make your own, brass wire isnt too expensive and the setup for maille making isnt either. I dont know how you would rivet it, but oh well.

yes, after consulting with a friend, iv decided just to use butted, as i have loads of it left over from earlier. they are easily removable if a viable riveted alternative comes up.

thankyou all for your sugestions.

Mark showed them to Nick who looks after all that lovely maille at the Walalce collection on Tuesday. Nick agrees that they are lovely too!
