Bathing Henry III to Edward I Style.

Postby nadinp03 » Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:52 pm

Where am I able to find origional pictures of a wealthy lord bathing and further more, what items would be used.

I know a barrel type vessel would be used, soap, fine toothed comb for the hair afterwards, perhaps a pummice, natural sponge, razor, warm water (warmed by the fire), jug to transfer the water. Perhaps herbs to scent the water?? Anything else??

Where could one obtain a bathing vessel? Would half of a wooden barrell do??

Linens (hanging around tub, lining tub, for drying etc) would I think be needed. I don't have images to hand, but I'm sure they're out there (remember seeing some).
