Re: Alchemist Wanted (21st - 22nd October 2017)
Dear All
I looking for a 17th Century Alchemist for the above weekend for an inside event at an historic location. Jack Greene is busy, but I'm looking for a contact for Gutheri Steward or any other Alchemist who may be available? Nice event and payment made.
Thank you

This may seem like an odd question, but do you have to be a trained alchemist at all? The reason I ask is that I know a little chemistry (nothing too outlandish just things like why does an ice cube stick to a piece of string when you add salt to it) and things like that, but turning lead into gold might be a little beyond me I'm afraid (as would travelling outside Ceredigion as well)Rob Butler wrote:Dear All

The event would require quite a bit of interaction and good knowledge of alchemy with various equipment and process to stage a realistic interpretation. If you have further details or a website, then please get in touch.Henri De Ceredigion wrote:This may seem like an odd question, but do you have to be a trained alchemist at all? Guthrie's book looks good - can I get it on paper? lulu.com maybe?

I guess Lulu would be an option. I'd need to look into it. It's only a bit over 15k words.

Lulu.com is perfect for books of that size. I get the impression it will accept a book of any size whatsoeverguthrie wrote:I guess Lulu would be an option. I'd need to look into it. It's only a bit over 15k words.

I wish we were in the U.K.. My sons were raised at fair (history for homeschoolers). They are in university now. The "alchemist" is so familiar with the evolution from alchemy to the discovery of the elements that he is giving a talk about it in his speech class. His brother is the chatty one. Professional storyteller, fiddle player, live looper, composer and singer. And, I have done a bit of alchemy with their help. Only started one fire by accident. The other fires were on purpose. Alas dragons agreeable to transporting people with garb, chemicals and instruments are hard to come by these days.
We do hope to be returning for a visit to the U.K. Summer of 2018 or 2019 and hope to find some events then. Probably June and July, more ore less. Our fiddle player will be doing some performing on that trip.

There's always "Mad" Jack Greene of course.
