Kentwell - Lidimy exists!

Post by craig1459 »

Here's my photos of varying quality of our excellent trip to Kentwell today

featuring amongst others

sara1459 the token MOP
Annis
Mally Ley and Mini Mally (but didn't get Miel and TJ who were nearby)
Mad Jack

and a verifiable primary source for the existence of Mistress Lidimy - that's her and her family dancing with other MOPs :D

Just cos she says that she's Lidimi......

I still refuse to believe that she actually exists - I'm sure she's one of Smiffy's myriad aliases!

I'm so tired! But what a brilliant day! So glad to have met you finally Craig!

Oh dear though - those pictures are VERY embarrassing. I had no idea you were there, unsurprisingly! In fact, you rather appeared out of nowhere and left me feeling rather silly and tongue tied!

Finally met Annis and Bess too, I don't know about anyone else as I didn't really know who to look out for. Met Tamsin Lewis quite by chance as well, and got to speak to her, though I assume she didn't know who I was.

Got to see a lifesized buckler though! Tee hee!

Lidi :D

I'm actually David Smith as well :D

Thanks Lidi. Nice to meet you and your family - hopefully for a longer time next time lol We had a three hour drive and stuff to sort out at home so left a bit early

I probably saw Tamsin but don't know what she looks like lol

I loved the experience and picked up so many presentational ideas, as well as specific info which does relate to what we do.

A Tudor! A Tudor! Sorry Fletch lol

Lidi and the ladies seem to be enjoying the dancing so much more than the gentlemen mops...

Chris I couldn't help but think of you when I saw a life size buckler! I was going to get DLT and Mags to sit in it together but it was under a whole pile of other stuff so they had to suffice sitting amidst the other shinies. I saw Annis' items too and they are so lovely!

Assuming that's a typo for Tewks ( :D )

Ummm... see below.... :( :( Even if there was someone who could take me, it transpires to be the weekend that an old family friend has decided to visit. It means digging out embarrassing baby stories - she used to be our babysitter

Oh.

Well then, it appears Miss Baby Sitter is coming Saturday, so does anybody fancy detouring to Norwich and drive me to Tewks on Sunday? :D

What none of the pictures show is that it had rained solidly for 10+ hours the night before, only really stopping a few hours before opening time - never forgetting all the other wet in the preceeding weeks
Lidi - the little boy at the muster is my godson. His sister (15 months) managed to give us all a fright the w/e before by falling in the (now-not-so) scummy pond on the front sward. Fortunately the only damage was managing to shrink her borrowed (from us!) kit.
Craig - a nice picture of the scholars. If you'd stayed 'til the end there was a tipit/trapball/base ball match between the scholars and the pages on the front sward. All taken very seriously. Most of the money went on the scholars, as the pages had only eaten about 1/4 hour before the match - but the pages won.
Like Sunday afternoon at the village cricket. Sitting around the edges, in the sunshine, on the nearly dry grass, applauding good catches. A very pleasant end to the w/e.
Back on Friday for the last weekend. A couple of days freedom (MLG doing gymnastics at the local carnival) Bliss :D

Oh that was what they were playing! Looked like a much more fun version of Rounders :P

Nice pictures!

Yes that is Mad mab in that photo Lidi. Little freddie is so sweet!

"In fact, you rather appeared out of nowhere and left me feeling rather silly and tongue tied!"

Same here, if it wasn't for Dob saying "This fellow has the same badge as you on his doublet"... then inside i went "ARGHHH! Its Craig!" (in a nice way of course) then I went completely silent...

Lol Annis - Maybe he just has that affect on people  Having said that Annis, I wanted to talk to you more but I felt so silly and shy, so sorry if I seemed a bit rude! :( Doubtless there'll be plenty of times in the future when we can meet again though :D

Well I'm glad I 'met' Mab. I suspected her when she looked oddly at me (hopefully not intentionally!) when she saw my mouse - she must have guessed who I was but obviously couldn't break character.

Couldn't believe I saw THE Ninya and didn't recognise her! Doh! But I saw all the TT clothes hanging up above the alehouse, it did make me chuckle.

I saw you and Sara outside but we were all packed up and ready to go - II thought I had saw both of you during the event but having seen Vikki from Bucks the day before I thought I was imagining things!
Did you see me? i was gentry with a huge black hat - and a small gilr a red and gold silk gown - that's a small child ( who you may remember from the Bucks camp last year but obviously she's bigger now being nearly 3)
