Fortunately this was the last day.
She'd been in there most days all week and had always come back almost worryingly clean, but this day she and Ollie (Miel's grandson) had been trying to work the wheel together - one kicked while the other potted(?vb?) What's not so clear on the pic is the fine spray of orange clay water that underlay all the rest of the mess - she being at the right height to get covered while kicking the wheel for Ollie!

Aaah, Mally!!
Attila loved her time using the pottery wheel with Kate, and was really pleased with what she made.
MLG looks as though she had the time of her life.

Kate - I agree with you. All children should be able to look like this every so often.

Great picture, just like my daugther. My wife found her in the garden the other day with her hand in a bucket of wallpaper paste splashing quite happily totally unconcerned that she had her school uniform on. Priceless

I end up looking like that whenever I do pottery with the kids, It goes all over my shiny bits and I am nay too pleased about it.

Annie's anwer to finicky potters -
make your clothers from madder (terracotta) cloth and you'll never notice the splashes
or
make your clothes from any colour and they eventually turn terracotta.

Annie, who gave birth to a pottery child, and who's other son has hitched up with another one.
