Bourtange 2011

Postby Mrs. Woodrington » Mon May 23, 2011 8:57 pm

After some frustrating times with Picasa, I finally managed to get the photos of the Bourtange weekend online! There are 3 links:

For pics of both the main battles: ... 011Battles

For pics of the goings on in town and the raid on the washerwomen: ... 2011InTown

And a seperate album with portraits... you might be in there!: ... 1Portraits

Hope you enjoy them! (if you've got a few moments left... ;-)

Cheers, Ellie

Great pics again Ellie!

I like living on the edge, it gives a great view over the world!

Good stuff Ellie

Young men have often been ruined through owning horses, or through backing them, but never through riding them: unless of course they break their necks, which, taken at a gallop, is a very good death to die

Great pictures. Are you allowed to take the camera onto the field? If not, that's a mighty zoom lense!

200 mm... sufficent for most occassions. This battlefield isn't that big, and it was no problem doing this from behind the barriere. Got a 500 mm since last year Grolle for 'larger fields' :-)

And in answer to the 1st part of the question. In the Netherlands ,, yes . If your peroid clothing is good ,
your are `safe` eg, an experienced re enactor , and discrete ,, and are known for taking good photos.
You made be offered a pass to go on the field ,, See Ellies post down this page about Grolle :-)
And if you want to see some paintings in oil with a camara ,, ask her to post a link of her 1600 dance
photos . Next to Buckets coat ,, those photos are the best :-)
