Out April 23rd

On Film 2010 last night too!!!

Britannia members feature heavily in the opening scene... surrounded by Picts, flaming brushwood, and a falling tree.

Dominic West yelled: "It's a trap!"

Followed by someone next to me, who shall remain nameless, grumbling: "No 5hit Sherlock!" (I think they must have cut that bit out). :D

Just seen it!

WOW!!!!! :D :D :D

Very nervous as the film started... but I actually think it's damn good action film, just happens to be set in the Roman period!
Neil Marshall at his best.. think Dog Soldiers meets Gladiator!

Went to see it today. Visually stunning, the scottish country side is used to the max and looks great. I don't know much about that Roman period but the kit looked pretty damn good to me. And yes it is very bloody and grizzly.
The down side for me was the she-wolf charater reminded me of Keira Knightly in King Arthur. And that the cat and mouse plot wore a bit thin after a bit, and it came to a rather predictable end. Having said that on the whole I enjoyed it, I can't vouch for the other 10 ( :( ) people in the cinema though.

Come on, no one's as bad as Keira Knightley :D

Anyways... it's not meant to be high art, just an excuse for gratuitous Roman violence :lol: :lol:
I can't vouch for the other 10 people in the cinema though
Brit films I'm afraid, unless it's a Richard Curtis film with Hugh Grant in it, no massive publicity machine compared to say the latest Jennifer Aniston rom-com that has millions of dollars of promo behind it.
I never saw Dog Soldiers at the cinema, saw it about a year after on DVD, only got to hear of that classic Neil Marshall film by word of mouth

SAW IT AND THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT but TYPICAL bRITISH film ie bloody good well amde no big stars no no massive publicity
There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.

Just back from seeing it - thought it was terrific.

There has been damn little publicity for this - I cannot recall seeing any trailers for it on the television, which bearing in mind it is a british film with a british cast is a terrible shame. But I thought the violence was incredible, (but believable due to the time and context) and liked the fact that there was a reference to just how far some of the legionaries had travelled from - someone obviously did a bit of research on the legion set up.

Is down on my DVD to buy list when it is released - well done Dan

Haha! Actually it's 'well done Neil Marshall' The guy is a genius!

I just happened to be involved in a minor capacity... but what I am proud of is my lads for their work in the marching scenes and THAT ambush scene!

The pictish women looked like she couldn't hold a spear by herself let alone become death on two legs to all things Roman.
So only about 99% better than that King Arthur B***cks from this critic.
