Minden - 1759 - 2009

These have just been posted in the LHI site, so I thought I would share them here because they are so pretty...

Young men have often been ruined through owning horses, or through backing them, but never through riding them: unless of course they break their necks, which, taken at a gallop, is a very good death to die

Nice! Looks like the cavalry's fear of dud horses was unfounded!

Experience with German horses shows the opposite to the UK.

You normally end up with excelently schooled horses who can be a little highly strung, but yes, they do look good (physically) and their temprement looks even also.

I would have loved to go, but the money fairies keep breaking in and steeling my funds without so much as a damn your eyes.
(well, them or the vets bills)

Another Gallery of Minden 2009 photos with some great washed out colour effects. A few German 'arty shots' as well but mostly re-enactment!

A short video of the skirmish from day 2, complete with fire engine (we didn't start the fire!).
