You mean ex-going to be midwife.

I've given up on that career move - it'll take years to get onto a course.

Even if you give up on the midwifery the chance may still come - I've got an archaeology degree but still managed to deliver a baby about twenty years ago!

Lovely hair.

People mess around with their hair far too much. Yours is Perfect, like Eowyns.

Do not dye it.

Ever.

I never, ever will Zachos! Even if it gets darker I am resolved not to lighten it.

You shouldn't be wearing make up anyway. :P

My hair is my best feature - not at all dyed, but in the light it's gold, copper, brown, chesnut.....

wow sounds like we have the same hair!!! people seem surprised when i say ive never dyed it. i go thru phases of loving it and hating it. because its so long(to my bottom) i hate it in the closed season cuz i cant do anything with it but love it when we are re-enacting as i can braid it for miles !!!

lidi your hair is lovely!!!

ooh, sounds lovely. I wish my hair was a bit longer.

One thing I hate about my hair is that it's naturally curly and so gets straightened if I go out the house. But I have a trick of making my hair into ringlets :D

Nooo you don't! My hair isn't as long as Handbag's but it gets so unbearably knotty and runs the risk of looking incredibly straggly (especially come that 'one day over due of a wash' look  )

am so with you there. i have to take a hair brush with me everywhere to get out the knots! if i so much as turn my head it end up looking like a birds nest. i hardly wear it loose but cuz of its braidability im banned from cutting it by my fiancee, mother, most of our reenactment group and just basically anyone i know!!

oops just realised im (and my hair) taking this thread over a bit!! sorry.

back to topic really nice photos and looked like a fun day out!!

The problem I have with my long hair is if I don't tie it back or braid it before I go to bed, I find that I wake myself up because it gets wrapped around me head and I can't bloomin breathe!

Or one (or all 3  ) of my kids creeps into our bed without me knowing and falls asleep on it and then I really get mad whilst unable to move!

But saying that.... I would not cut it for the world...

Oh yeah... and I find my hair all over the house... so much hair falls out I am surprised I have any left!... don't even mention plugholes!

You have to braid long hair before bed, or you inhale the sodding stuff!
Lidi-lovely photo, bizarrely in that one you look a bit like my younger sister...similar face shape to me, and looking a bit serious!

My mum makes me pick all my hair out the shower plug after washing my hair. It's pretty disgusting - I love my hair... on my head, but I find stray hair on clothes, carpets, shower plugs etc absolutely gross. I don't know why. When I hoover my room it all comes up in little balls, should probably hoover my room more to avoid it but yeh  I don't braid my hair before bed, it's not that long, and besides it would get all crinkled and unstraight-ified if I did that! Heinous!

Cat - thanks, but don't look out for someone looking like that pic... chances are I'll be smiling if I'm in the same place as you (IE, an event!) and I only look serious if being given a very interesting history lecture! (or if I'm posing)

I only said a bit longer :( NOT 'miles' longer, about an inch or so would do, just so I could do more with it just like I used to do....
