Does anyone know of some source (preferrably a book) in which I can find a description of what kind of tents were used in a Jacobite camp at the 45?
(Or just prior to the 45)

jacobite tents
A couple of pics of Jacobites camped at Edinburgh. Shortly after on the march south the inhabitants of Lockerby stole 30 cart loads of tents from the Jacobites and carried them off. The Jacobites probably spent the remainder of the campaign sleeping in ditches (and eating mud).

Hello Mark P.,
I tried PM-ing you, but the message stays in my outbox for fome reasen and doesn't appear in my sentbox.
So I try it like this.
Thanks for the pictures!
I've got a question, do you have the books yourself?
I've tried the libraries here but none of them could supply me with the books.
If you have the books, could you scan the pages with the desription of the pictures and the pictures and include the pagenumbers?
We joined the national Living history platform in the netherlands which asks us to give sources of everything we use.
If you could do that for me, I would be very gratefull!
Thanks in advance,
Wim-Jaap

Mark, it has been established that it's the medievals that eat mud. Us Jacobites eat rather well, as you should know
