Does anyone know of any online resources with either readable images or transcripts of period news-sheets and papers. I'm looking particularly for the adverts and notices rather than siginificant articles, but it's all of interest.

Apologies for the double post, I'm putting this in 1603-1715 as well.

The online archive of the London Gazette goes back as far as 1752.

The are usually some ads on the back page of each edition.

The Internet Library of Early Journals has copies of the Gentleman's Magazine, the later ones have a few advertisements (usually for books) at the end of each monthly edition.

Thanks Mark. :)

I really should have said that I'm looking mostly for stuff 1670-1730, but up to 1750ish is good too.

How about Spectator and Tatler?
Not sure if theire adverts are actually real or litrary fiction though.
