Kedleston Hall 17/18 June

Post by Tod »

17th/18th June 2006
This is a 1745 Jacobite Rebellion event.
Displays will include:
King George II's Redcoats. Drill dispaly and soldiers camp.
Prince Charles Edward Stuart's (Bonnie Prince Charlie) Jacobite Army. Drill display and encampment.
A skirmish form the 1745 Jacobite Rising.

Kedleston Hall is one of the most popular National Trust sites, and this event is one of the few opertunities to actaully see a Jacobite event in a location where some thing really happened at the time. Come and see the award winning Lace Wars at one of the top National Trust properties. We (Rose and Thistle - organisors of the event) have also invited members of New France Old England and the Charles Edward Stuart Society.

OR! Would you like to try 18th century re-enactment? If you are interested in any of the above Lace Wars offers a try out week end free of charge, in most cases we can lend you costume.

A big thanks to Tod for organising a very enjoyable

weekend at Kedleston Hall. A photgrapher (Anthony Dodd)

was present on Sunday and he took a large number of

photos which can be seen online by following the link

There are a lot of redcoat photos at the start which is

no bad thing, but if you stick with it you should be

able to spot some Jacobites and guests from NFOE and

Be gentle with the comments!

These views are not necessarily those of RaT, which usually are accompanied with a sulphurous smell.
