Night March to Nairn

Post by I Dev »

There will be a Night march to Nairn Taking place this Wednesday 15th of April,
It is being organised by Tony Pollard and the BBC, They have asked me to coordinate the re-enactors who might want to take part, it is a bit late in the day for those of you who might be south of the border, if there are any members who wish to take part please get in touch,
Tony has suggested that we try and raise some funds for the charity Erskine - which provides care for ex-servicemen and women. We have raised £160 this far and hope for far more. People are making donations on the charity website: www.justgiving.com/nightmarch
we will post photos on this web site so you can see what went on, there are only a few re-enactors taking part as it mid week there will be members of the public along with us, so don’t be surprised if you see un authentic ‘s pop up in the pics.
If anyone wants to make a donation it will be greatly appreciated.

See you tomorrow night. Jude & Ian
Musteteer and minister with Frasers Dragoones SK, lowlander with Lace Wars, mercenary with Thirty Years War artillery unit Hortus Bellicus. Been in re-enactment since 1986 which allows me to indulge my fetish for uniforms and facial hair.

Hi Ian
Sorry I can't make it up for the night march as I'm sure it will be a good event.
I'll certainly drop in a few quid on the charity's site though.

Best of luck to you all (Ian and Jude included)......hope the weathers kind to you!! :)
Cheers
Neil

Thanks for your support Neil, I completed it as I started, musket on shoulder, sword on hip. Willie finished as well, in spite of a few blisters, he wouldn't give in. Jude supplied us all with water through the night at various points. Some good photos in the papers, and money raised for the Erskine Hospital, a good result.

Brilliant stuff
Glad that yourself and Willie made it........I did wonder!!
Sounds like Jude had plenty to do as well on support.
It makes you realise what these guys actually went through.
Well done again
See you soon

Even with the Mrs?

I remember her views of the place
Young men have often been ruined through owning horses, or through backing them, but never through riding them: unless of course they break their necks, which, taken at a gallop, is a very good death to die

Yes Andy
You're right, not one of Shonna's favourite places, one of the many reasons is she feels the weather there can be a tad inclement 364 days of the year!!
