They arent seamed i'm afraid, but they are real fully fitted nylons. No runs, look like a couple of slightly snagged threads but if you'd like them to experiemnt with, you are very welcome to them, you can always draw the seam up your leg with eyeliner

oops, have only just noticed the picture!

Thanks Sally, sounds like a plan! How much are they?

Annis - who is too scared to use her eyeliner on her eyes!

They are a present for you, I won't wear them, and it means you can try out a pair of nylons and make all the silly mistakes like sticking your thumb through them when putting them on before you invest in some super accurate seamed ones :)
pm me your address and I'll get that sorted :)

fingers crossed for better weather this year
Annis at RAF ramsey event last year I only took my wellies off for the actual parade.
And my sister pretty much wears her wellies for all forties events (normally with ankle socks!)
Jim - working on a different aesthetic remember? And you'd wear what you could ..
Annis on a practical note just think of standing up in them all day..you've not considered the less elegant but highly practical plimsoll option as an mergency back up have you?

I suppose it wont matter, because unlike tights, they don't have to reach right up the leg and suspender belt strap things extend anyway...

Nylons arent very authtentic.
Although invented before the war, they only became available in the US to most consumers just about when the war started and soon production stopped.
Although popular they became pretty impossible to get inside the US.
You can imagine how rare they were in the UK or other European countries.
Ask elderly women when they first got real nylons, many will say that this wasnt till the 1950s.

The best way to go is to keep looking for originals on ebay and at fleamarkets.
There are no really authentic modern alternatives for sale.
Except perhals silk but they are usually not seamed and were also difficult to get at the time.
