Another Newbie

Post by cherrylvskiwi »

Hi, I have always been interested in reenactment. I live in the North East (Newcastle area) and wonder if you can tell me about groups in this area? Thanks so much for your replies :)

Durham Light Infantry, the Napoleonic 68th regiment of foot are not so far away. A very good group (I'm not a member, just a fan).

I would agree with Wurzul, the 68th are a very good Napoleonic group.
Gordon Highlanders http://www.gordonhighlanders1914-18.co.uk/ a WWI group with the majority of the members in the North of England and Scotland with events all around that area, going to be in a trench at http://www.ywe-event.info/ over the weekend of 23-24 June

We do 1850s/60s just as a small display and also belong to the Warwicks 1914-1918 LH group, we're based all over. I'm in East Yorks.

Best of Times Worst of Times are based in the NE (Redcar/Middlesbrough area) - they do Elizabethan, Napoleonic and onwards through the 19thC. You just missed them last month at the Bede's World, Jarrow event.....

I am not a member of the 68th, but I can vouch that the 68th are a well respected, high quality group with a solid core of members in the North East. They also do some 18th Century interpretation of Lambton's Regiment.
Scum of the earth.
