Hi guys, I urgently need to find some cream / white wool as my split leg hose were trashed at kelmarsh and our usual place doesn't have any in stock. I've also tried herts but they've ran out too. Any help would be brilliant, thanks.

Regards,
Thalion.

Where in the UK are you based? There are several reasonable fabric suppliers here in the West Yorkshire area but that won't be a lot of good if your too far away.

Yeah it's no problem I'm in the UK (Or should I be saying England now???) I'm just looking for an off white wool, non woven, 2m by 60 " so if you could give me a few contacts that'd be brilliant. As I've got a show in a few weeks.

Non woven? How does that work? Unless you want felt?

The nearest good one to me is Fabworks - they don't have a website (as such) but they are on Facebook. They do all sorts of cloth, although you may find getting 'non woven' - I assume you mean felt - in that width anywhere.

My computers RAM just got fried, so sorry for the slow response, I've had to rig it which is never good. Anyway, what I mean is I don't want woven wool like: http://www.classhistory.co.uk/Herts%20F ... uct_id=248

But the type of wool I'm after looks like this:
http://www.classhistory.co.uk/Herts%20F ... uct_id=392

That's what I mean by non-woven.

Cloth Hall had some while hosen fabric at Bosworth, but it's a gods 2/2 twill, which is what you describe as 'woven' wool, as that makes the best hosen.

The 'non-woven' is filled or finished wool. It's still woven, it's just that additional processes are applied that hide the weave.

Oh alright, thanks I don't know about wool too much so I'm sorry I couldn't tell you the proper names. Thanks anyway.

Thalion.
