late 15th century German buckles and strap ends

Postby AndrewM » Sun Jul 21, 2013 12:08 am

Hi,
I am looking for artefact info and images on late 15th C German belt buckles and strap ends for a male belt. Just plain ordinary ones, nothing higher class.
Many thanks in advance
Andy

Well if you don't mind a answer from me although I am new
on this forum?
Can you read German?
There is not much available on books only about
German buckels. One of the best still is the book
"Guertel des hohen und spaeten Mittelalters"
by Ilse Fingerlin
ISBN 3 422 00645 2
This is a old book from 1971 might be hard to find?

We usually reccomend starting at the Larsdatter links page, google it, and from there you can find internet art resources that are even more period and location exact.
