Painted bucklers

Post by Foxe »

Just an idle question really...

I have a buckler that looks terribly dull and sterile. Is there any evidence that bucklers were ever painted or decorated in some way? If so, how common?

funny that 2 of those have the same colour paint as the garment of the user. So maybe the artists brush was still full?

But they painted everything else so I'd be surprised if bucklers didn't have the same treatment occasionally
http://www.griffinhistorical.com. A delicious decadent historical trifle. Thick performance jelly topped with lashings of imaginative creamy custard. You may also get a soggy event management sponge finger but it won't cost you hundreds and thousands.
