Voiders - how to attatch

Postby ASK » Mon Mar 25, 2013 11:53 pm

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the attachment method of voiders in the late 15th C, I have seen paintings of the 16th C which had the voiders edged and then pointed on, but nothing for the 15th C, does anyone know if there is evidence for pointed voiders, or is it a fabrication of what was done later? should they be sewn directly on?

any help would be appreciated...

Cheers

Alex

There's another thread on here about that as I had the same problem. I was told they were pointed and sewn on. I went for sewing them on and then found out the voiders weren't the right shape. After getting them partly tailored I still have a problem getting them right, I've concluded it's a two person job.

If you and I are at the same event, I can spare a few minutes to help you get the fit right if you would like.

Best wishes

I'm sure that we've had this discussion already, but I can't find any evidence of it.

I'm at Harewood this weekend and should be at Kelmarsh and Bosworth. Other than that, I'm not cure.
