Wooden Ram Rod type things

Does anyone know of a wooden ram rod seller or maker.
I have found lots of brass ended ones, but no solid wooden ones, which I believe were correct for the Wars of The Roses period.
Looking for a 20 Gauge, 12 Bore and 11 Bore but I guess the 12 would do for the 11 as well.

Generally I get hardwood dowel from B&Q or the like and cut it to length, I have snapped a few playing silly buggers.

Is it something you would like with a handle, or some such, in ash dowel, for a little more flex?
If you want some specially made, pm me the details of what they should be and I will make some up on approval. Always glad to add a new line, stops life getting boring.

A quality dowel cut to length works - just remember to put it away safely before you shoot! :D

You taught me to shoot James so I should be OK I hope.

I am using a brass tipped rod for the 20 gauge at the moment, but I would prefer something a little more authentic as I believe the brass tipped rods were from a later century.

The 11 bore has a dowel, but it looks a bit DIY. The 12 bore is new and needs a "stock" for want of a better word. It will be finished in the style of one of the guns I like from the Osprey medieval handguns book.

I will probably do some measuring and have some nice ash rods made up, one for each gun.

I know, but it is one of my pet worries, do not want to end up having to go down the road of just Tapping the gun and not ramming :o
