Postby Allan Harley » Wed Jan 07, 2009 9:27 am

This is the amount of information I have been able to glean on this man - can anyone help, suggest alternative info sources please.

John FLORY (Duke of Somersets standard bearer at tyewkesbury) (fl.1464) of Cloford, Somerset.

Daughter, Ellen = Edward Basing(q.v.). (

17 Jan. 1464 Was a rebel on this date, when Cloford was granted to William Colyngbourne(q.v.).

Executed after the battle of Tewkesbury 1471

Away from the battle all are soldiers.

Allan, I can find bog all about him on the web. He may feature in some legal documents from Somerset but that's about it. There is a pic in the Man At Arms WOTR book by Wise & Embleton of a man at arms wearing his arms.
