Chain mail infills for plate armour

Postby Mythos » Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:39 am

I am currently seeking chain mail protection (flat ring, riveted or otherwise) for the exposed areas beneath my late C15 plate armour: voiders for under arms, neck collar-piece and shorts (not skirt) for the nether region.

Can anyone advise whom I might contact to make these?

Get dressed for battle do them - not in stock at the moment but worth an enquiry. Perhaps with the dollar being not fully recovered Historic Enterprises are worth a look too? http://www.historicenterprises.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=290&c=25

GDFBs out of stock status seems to be pretty much ongoing, have they wound down their maille supplies to just full hauberks?

Thanks to all for your replies. I am now following up these leads, and it has been a great help.

GDFB's website is often out of date - I always call them up or email them, and usually find that items marked as out of stock are in, or in stock at their German warehouse and can be sent direct from there.
