Crevecoeur

Post by John Waller »

We are off on a family holiday to Normandy in August. I spotted this medieval event at Chateau de Crevecoeur http://www.chateau-de-crevecoeur.com/en ... medievales . It looks like it might be good. Has anyone been in past years? Is it worth the trip?

No but if its anything like the early Norman stuff they do over there it will rock
There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.

Haven't been to an event there but the site itself is well worth a visit.

OK it's on the to do list. Have been looking at the videos on the site from past years and it looks like a top drawer event. Sort of White Company meets Kentwell type of thing. Only five weeks to go! Just bought a new camera so will post some pics when I get back.

Very enjoyable event. We went on the Thursday and will also post up some pics when I can. Event was set in 1453. The nearest UK equivalent I can think of would be Kentwell, though on a smaller scale with about 70 interpreters. Lots going on in and around the restored buildings - blacksmith, baker, potter, printers, soldiers, musicians, dancers, cooks, gentry, animals - pigs, goats, sheep, horse, donkey, cow, rabbit, dove, hounds etc etc. Very good kit and I only spotted a very few anachronisms.

Event runs for 8 days at the begining of August each year. Recomended.

Strange you should ask but I was downloading from the camera as you posted.

OK how do I post pics - I get a message that file size is too big?
