Hello all,

Has there been any word as to the dates for the Lanark show this year?

16th-17th August 2008, back at the racecourse again. More details to follow shortly - the website at http://www.lanarkmedievalfestival.co.uk/ is due an update, as soon as I can find a spare day or so...

Paul.

Give it a week or so, and I should be ready to open up the registration pages properly. Anything which goes through currently will of course be noted, despite it saying 2007 on the pages.

The server which runs the website is currently in bits on my study floor, after having some "issues" as I upgraded it. It should be back within the next 24 hours, and then a few more photos will be uploaded.

Paul.

Server's back online.

Gallery for 2007 to follow later - for those of you who've posted images, would you have any objection if I selected a few from each of you, and used them with credits on the event pages?

LANARK MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL 2008
1400 years of history
Romans – The Vikings – Medieval

Royal Burgh of Lanark – August 16/17, 2008

Back by popular request, and hopefully without the rain !

The 08 show should be fairly similar to last year’s, and once again on the same racecourse site which has plenty of space to grow the event.

The main difference this year is inclusion of the Romans who are bringing their artillery, and after Kate Tiler being bombarded by Conquest’s s/e last year maybe she’d better re-inforce the tent roof!

Last year’s financial loss due to the weather means we’ve reluctantly had to drop plans for a recreation of Wallace’s castle, and inclusion of horses.

But with us due a good summer, and lots more MOPS through the gate, we’re hoping to look at those plans for next year.

There should also be some on-site changes. Last year was our first on that site so we know that some of the layout needs tweeking.

As Paul said you can register on-line.
Anyone with specific questions please PM or e-mail (lanarkmedievalfestivalAThotmail.com) me.

Alan,

The site has now been updated to make it clear that the registration form also applies to 2008.

Paul.

I throw down the chalange!
Last yeat I managed to participate in all 8 battles, two viking and two medieval each day. By the end of the second day I was, not only broken with an F, but extremely chuffed to have managed this.
Anyone else stupid enpough to do it this year?

I scan a lot of these kind of photos and can say these ones are particularly good. Can't tell you why, they are just rather good :)
