What's New

Post by cal »

All sorts of things behind the scenes obviously, but up-front.

1) Only got one style at the moment - will consider other styles for inclusion soon

2) Attachments system has changed (new and improved I hope)

3) You can create drafts without posting them.

4) All sorts of updates on Polls including multiple item voting

5) Better searching

6) Subscribe to a forum (you get an email whenever a new post goes to the forum, rather than individual topics)

7) You can bookmark topics, sort them in new ways and email them.

8) Private Messages have a whole revamp
* Additional PM Folders
* Customisable PM Filter Rules
* Send to Multiple Recipients
* Send Blind Carbon Copies
* Forward Messages
* Address Book
* Using Friends list
* Message Drafts
* Export Messages
* Attachments for Messages
* Conversation View

9) Moderators, you've got a whole new world to explore too!!

Excellent, will anything new is most welcome the "Only got one style at the moment" is confusing my little head in all ready as this one is exactly the same as another forum I frequent. :lol:

(More silly smilies would be cool too.)

Hi I'm new here and so far have just been looking around. I was looking for info on shoes yesterday and found lots of cool stuff. Today whn I tried to look for it again I am only getting 6 hits for 'shoes' and no hits for 'turnshoes'. Are the search functions working correctly?

Cheers

Not just yet, the search engine is still scanning all the posts, so it might be a few hours before they all show up in searches. Let me know tomorrow if you are still not finding what you think should be there...

Wow, looks exciting! I did get a shock when I just logged on. After many months away, until a couple of days ago, it all seemed the same... except for all the 'polls' in the 'Friends and Gossip' section... what was that about, anyway?

Whatever! Well done! Thanks for all your hard work. :*

Hi Cal. I did notice something that could possibly do with addressing. Its not a major problem, but a simple surfing convenience thing. When clicking on links people post they don't open in a separate page, but instead navigate away from this site. Now, we can simply right click links & specify open up in new page/tab, but would be certainly more convenient to just open up in a new page or tab anyway.

By the way, congratulations on the new skins, not all of them work seemlessly with the new site, which is a pity as I really quite like the Celtic Dream one, but in use turned out not to be quite as user friendly as I'd hoped, am using DirtyBoard 2.0 to type this & generally so far seems good :geek: 8-) :coffee: :y:
