IM(Honest)O, I wouldn't use another silk - it would be far too much (imagine if my green wool was silk as well as my forepart! ). Why not go for something a little less fancy like a fine linen, or wool.

Vintage shop in Saffron Walden

I heard over the weekend that there is a great shop in Saffron Walden that sells a lot of vintage stuff such as stockings and compact powders.

Does anyone know what the shop is called? All I know is that it's down a side lane near the Barclays Bank!

Thanks

Commercial pattern question

Just a quick question. Am going to start making a 40s dress from a commercial pattern, the finished hip measurement will fit fine, but the finished bust measurement is pushing it slightly. If I add an inch or two to the bodice pattern pieces, will this majorly affect the construction? or will I have...

Thanks Steve, but those aren't the lyrics either, the ones I'm after are C16th. It goes through various plant names and meanings such as "Rosemary is for rememberance" etc etc

Oh, I was thinking that was for the Sellinger's Round (because it isn't)

No, it's different to that. The first verse is where the woman talks to the apprentice about her hhusband and how he doesn't spend much time at home.
