Sellinger's Round

I am after the lyrics that go with this song, does anyone know them?

Also, ones for a song about a woman who goes of with her husband's apprentice (I think) and the ones for Sydney is Dead (Sir. Philip Sydney). But I might have to ask Tamsin for those!

Ok, but would ankle socks go with the shoes I have (see thread about 'Shoe Dye')? It certainly would be easier! Are they just a normal pair of socks, any certain colours? I might still have some black/white ones...

No, I don't have a suspender belt - I've never even worn stockings before.

The cheapest pair of stockings I have found so far are 100% Nylon ones from 'What Katie Did'.

I'm trying to work out how garters would work - I can do the ones that sit below the knee, but when I'm wearing a knee length dress.... :?

I don't know - people have said all sorts of things on all sorts of forums and I'm confused! According to Wikipedia, Nylon was invented in 1935 and "Nylons" (i.e. nylon stockings) appeared in 1940. So I guess nylon ones would be OK - Debenhams do a good range, but definitely check out sto...

Shoe dye

I have a pair of '40s styled shoes that I want to use at an event, but I was told to dye the heel, can I use a regular shoe dye or is there an easier/cheaper way of changing the colour? (like using a permenant pen?!)

Thanks

...where do you get YOURS from?

As in the tanned back seamed ones (in case there are other sorts) because I am after some and I will be in town in a couple of weeks if any high street shops still do things like that.

Thanks
Annis - who hopes to be kitted up for an event in August!

Right, the steps I used are: 1st section: Beats 1-4: reverence Beats 5-8: 4 steps (for men, women do the shuffly thing) 2nd section: 4 (I think) hop with one foot, step with the other, swish out with the other and jump so your feet are together again. This is done on alternateing feet - does that ma...

ooh, thats nice. Our one is more porcelein and more of a figure than a doll (she doesn't actually have a complete body - just a bit of wood!) Dating is a bit hard at the moment - the wear on it could mean it's really old, but could mean that it was played about with a lot/wasn't cared for properly. ...

I thought I'd share with you my mother's (belonged to someone in her family) KoA figurine/doll. Not in a fantastic condition - she does have a hood, albeit French in style, which is broken and the silk veil is pretty much disintegrated! Gown fabric is purploe velvet and a brocade and she wears a vel...
