Is there a "plastic camping area" as well as the "authenty" trading tent area? (We could probably stick a small sleeping tent inside the burgundian if need be.) Is there a charge for an electricity supply? And if so, how much? What exactly is the site, looks amazing on Googlearth? What facilities ar...

Beat this, then, for distance and making an effort - Saint Elisabeth Convent, from Minsk, Belarus, will be joining us at the EMF, trading in various items that their craftspeople make, such as icins, vestments, furniture, metalwork, paintings, and candlesticks.

Speaking as an organiser, I wish that I could guarantee attendance numbers. Sadly, it just isn't possible. I can provide prior years figures for an established event, but for a new event these just don't exist. As Pete the Pong stated above, the amount of time effort and money thrown at advertising ...

There are already two alternatives to the established markets which can offer an out of season trading opportunity for those who might relish another market or might prefer one that is more affordable. These are the History Boot Camp in early April, at Phasels Wood near J20 of the M25 close to Hemel...

That's cos the banking system doesn't care what date is on the cheque, it goes on the date they enter the system, so if the cashier doesn't clock the date is wrong, or the signature is missing, or that words and figures don't match, then it goes through. Their machine readers only pick up the specia...

There are "fixed costs" and "variable costs" in putting on a show. 2009 Pitch Fees for Traders

2008 has been a tricky one, what with cancellations and lovely weather and all. So, for 2009's events (full list to follow when dates etc confirmed) I am REDUCING pitch fees to just £40 a tent. This does not apply to the New Market or the Boot Camp, which can (depending on space etc) be EVEN CHEAPER...

Best of luck with it. If you need a couple of cheap markets to put stuff (examples etc) in front of re-enactors, History Boot Camp is FREE and The New Market is VERY CHEAP.

And we have a clear separation between "authentic tented traders" and " modern tented / gazebo traders" which works well and seems popular with public and traders (and unlike some organisations, no restrictions on what you sell, as I am not competing with you!!)

Bloody outrageous, mate - however, if the paperwork states that "most of the events will be taking place at the racecourse" and that was not the case then you all have a prima facie case to sue the *rse off the organisors. Won't go to court, the threat should do enough, but make sure you all claim f...
