WVS during the war, they were granted their 'R' after the war for their service.

And these are really tasty!

Re: Noah's Ark

I think I'll stick with Lucy's ark! Bit easier to get in the van.

Amersfoort Wim? Best chips with mayonnaise I ever had came from Amersfoort. :D

Re: WVS

The only person I would recommend is Della Rebours. I just sold all of my WVS kit having done a portrayal for about 15 years! Della's are copied from originals.

If you need any help, please ask I've been collecting home front for many years.

Re: Edwardian reenactment mens fashions

I used to help out at the WW2 event but it all went a bit fancy dress. Christine has been in touch and asked if we'd go but we don't know much more.

Is Quorn going to be the main station?

Re: Edwardian reenactment mens fashions

Hm, we've been asked to go along to this one...but then someone mentioned the S**eamp*nk word and now we're thinking if to bother! Pinterest is a great source...be careful of mixing court wear and casual attire, so a straw boater is a no with a morning suit/tailcoat. http://www.pinterest.com/search/...

Noah's Ark

I'm trying to find a traditional Noah's Ark toy for my son for events from 1850 onwards. I want the very plain type, bare wood. (I know you can buy modern ones on Ebay but they're not what I want) I'm sure I've seen someone who makes traditional wooden toys at a multiperiod event.

Any ideas?

Dressing History?

I've been trying to contact Serena at Dressing History for some straw bonnet bases. I know she's now working for a museum but is she still trading? Website is still live but no response.

It might be easier if I post a pic of an original shirt made to this style. I'll retrieve it from the loft later and take photos.

Yodel are the worst, I only got joy when I tweeted them on Twitter. My Hermes in my area are pretty good as they're all private couriers.
