Re: I want to buy an armet ... I think

Are they more difficult to fight in than any other closed face helmet, eg a pig face?

I want to buy an armet ... I think

Hello all, I would like to get a 15c helmet for full contact fighting - I want it to cover my face as I would hate to get my blood all over my opponent's sword. An armet seems ideal but I rarely see them on the field - anyone know why? Can anyone recommend an armourer who makes good armets that can ...

Re: Experienced fighter looking for a society

Hi Alex, You are welcome to come to our steel group (the one Martin mentioned in Basingstoke) but you might find the sca group closer to what you are looking for (full contact, full speed competitive combat) the difference is that there is no grappling and they use tournament battons rather than ste...

Re: Pictoral evidence of women fighting in C14th

The story is not 100% accurate to the actual history of any actual mercenary company in that battle but I think if we want to press for that level of accuracy then there are probably other, more glaring, issues which should be resolved first. While I am not disagreeing with your statement, stories ...

Ah, I did not know there had been a decline. My sword is, I think, 4 or 5 years old now?
Although it needs some repairs to it as the quillion is going again :-(

Re: Pictoral evidence of women fighting in C14th

Problem with Tewksbury is that the mercenaries were Flemish/Burgundian. Good job the group traces its routes from there then (although only if presssed by a MoP and it has never happened to me). It pretty much works out as a mercenary group raised by Tabor (Myk) which started in Bohemia and headed ...

Re: Pictoral evidence of women fighting in C14th

I know it is not a big deal but one that might be worth noting is at Tewkesbury GCoT portray foreign mercenaries which have been hired for the battle. Various members have backstories about how they are involved with the group (mine is that I am the son of a Welsh farmer who's farm was failing and l...

Re: kovex ars falcions

I have had a kovex sword as my primary training weapon for years. I think I bought one when I very first saw their stand. It is light, strong and was the sword that people wanted to borrow when they were training (rather than our training swords). I let them and it was fine. It got used pretty const...

I might have misunderstood you but just in case I did not - it is a VERY bad idea to wear something that looks like armour but is not armour! People will hit it like it is metal (i.e. hard) and will be more horrified that you when you collapse screaming in pain with broken bones. Obviously I cannot ...

I have been told that their CoPs are not suitable for heavy fighting. Certainly as of a month or so ago they were having problems meet...

A couple of years ago I used to work for the company that made MimeSweeper (I think, it was something like that). It was security software for the PC. Part of its job was restricting web access.

Therefore at release time part of my job was to browse for porn.

I used to get drunk there with other teenagers (well we are all in our 30s now but we were teenagers then). I used to live in Betws, now my mother lives next to Ammanford park in town. Prior arrangment works in theory but I can imagine it getting forgotten on the battlefield. I do not like the idea of having it chosen by random though because you could end up with people repeatedly getting killed first which would suck. I can imagine the tag system working but it would look a bit ...
